Vegan Update

So, I have been a dietary Vegan for one week.  If you don’t know me this is a big deal.  I will be 40 in one month and could never conceive of not eating meat.  A few weeks ago my wife read an article on CNN and I decide that I would start gradually changing my diet when I returned from our Seattle vacation and I ordered Forks over Knives before we left .  The easiest change was switching my daily latte to soy.

The day after we returned I had my usual (now soy) latte and an oatmeal for breakfast and then my wife surprised me with an early dinner and a vegan restaurant.  After dinner I thought, well that’s one day down why go back?  So I didn’t.  That was last Saturday and since then I have maintained a vegan diet.  I feel great, and besides a few cravings (orange chicken) I feel great.

I would recommend Trader Joe’s for any new Vegan.  They have a great selection of pre-made and frozen vegan meals.  For great recipes, check out Vegan Dad.
